Castle Motors started life in 1929 on the corner of Cross Road and Goodwood Road in the suburb formerly known as Redfern, now Cumberland Park. Castle Motors was established by the Sawley family who were trailblazers of the South Australian automotive industry, fixing cars of the day and pumping petrol the old fashioned way with a smile. The Schmitzer and Rosella families continue the Castle Motors legacy with the Rosella family being the current owner for the last 11 years.
From there, you will know the famous Castle Motors sign located on the corner of Portrush and Magill Roads in Norwood. For decades, generations of eastern suburbs families trusted their cars. That sign now resides at our new premises at 184 Portrush Road Trinity Gardens.
In the ever-changing and expanding automotive industry, you don’t survive and thrive for nearly a century unless you move with the times. Castle Motors specialise in European vehicles. We want to get to know your Mercedes, BMW, VW, Audi and Skoda and due to the extensive experience and training within the business we will also treat your Australian, Japanese, or American vehicle as if it were our own.
Since 2009, Castle Motors has been in the very safe hands of officially-accredited Master Technician Don Rosella and his family. The brand grew to include car sales of prestige and hard to find vehicles for motoring enthusiasts. As a Licensed Vehicle Dealer the Castle Motors reputation for integrity has continued to grow. We will not ever sell a car unless its full history is known. Also, if you have an interesting or unique car you’d like to sell, ask us. We’ll pay more than you might get for a trade in and save you the hassle of selling privately.
